Kaitlyn's fabulous face

A few weeks ago, I had an amazing opportunity to do Kaitlyn's makeup. I actually anticipated a mini outdoor photo shoot, but neither one of us expecting the snowfall and opted to stay inside instead.

Bare as she dares! Kaitlyn without any makeup.

The finished product =)

Natural Beauty

So Kaitlyn has this lovely fair complexion which also means that redness or dark marks are easier to spot (the price you pay for porcelain skin). The good news is, it's an easy fix! Since she already had her moisturizer on, I was able to go straight to work. So here is a brief explanation on some of the steps I did.
  1. I primed her face using Cover FX's 'Skinprep Fx'.
  2. I applied a thin layer of L'Oreal 'True Match' liquid foundation all over her face. I mixed a concoction of color W1 and W4 to get a truer color to her skin.
  3. I then applied Cover Fx's 'Conceal FX' in X-Light under her eyes and on the lids then in specific areas of her face to create a highlight effect and conceal any redness peeping through.
  4. To seal the deal, I finished it off with Cover FX's translucent powder to ensure everything stays in place.
It sounds like a lot of make up, but appears like nothings there. Her skin looks naturally seamless instead of screaming "Hey I have make up on". The only way to achieve that is to blend like your life depended on it hehehe...

To finish off the look...

Eyes
I applied a combination of Orb and Shroom (both by MAC) to her entire lid and chose Bronze (again by Mac) as the crease color. I lined her eyes with a Brown eyeliner and topped it off with Brownish Black mascara from Maybelline.

Lips
For the lips I used NYX Pale Pink lip liner, yes for the full lip and a bit of a clear gloss over it for a nude look.

Cheeks
I used MAC's Shell as a base for the apples of her cheeks and applied a blush color I mixed together. Last but not least, I used MAC's Blunt as a contouring shade for her cheeks.

This is a great way to achieve a soft, natural 'day look' which is still flexible enough for you to transform into something more sultry if needed. Unfortunately, that will have to wait until another blog... lol so stay tune for what's next!
