A simple mantra that this make up artist lives by... Join me on my journey!

My name is Janet and... I am a Dropout...
Slightly deceiving because I know traditionally this phrase is associated to a persons' education; I, however, am not using it in that sense. It's about dropping out of the normal expectations that we set for ourselves and pursuing the things we are passionate about. This is the philosophy behind a new urban clothing brand based out of Montreal, Dropout Clothing or DRPT CLOTHING.

Painting Update
So tack on an additional 4 hours to this massive painting and an easel to help my back out; I am now offically two thirds of the way done (insert mini victory dance here)! It is a serious piece for my novice skills, but I am looking forward to completing it.
One step closer to finishing! |

Modern Tribe
A couple of months have past since SynesthASIA; a Montreal charity fashion show, where I had the pleasure of using my makeup skills to help out. This year all proceeds went to the Abhilasha Project, a non-profit organization focused on education to help change in India and throughout the developing world. I finally received a few more pictures of my work, thanks to Sophie Tremblay, and wanted to share them with you lovely readers.

Painting in Progress
After showcasing a few pieces from my oil painting class, I've received quite a few requests to make larger versions. It's really flattering and overwhelming at the same time. I never expected such a response to my paintings, but my teacher is fabulous and has said from the beginning that if the exercises were completed properly, they would look like works of art.
I am currently working on a 18" by 24" piece, which is the biggest canvas I have attempted thus far. Basically, I am adapting one of the exercises I did in class to this larger board and let me tell you, it is a serious task! Six hours of work have already been put in and I am only a third of the way to completing it.
